Michael Schlander

Michael Schlander has taught, and continues to teach, health economics and innovation management at the University of Heidelberg (since 2007; previously at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Faculty of Medicine, 2005-2008, at the University of Witten/Herdecke, Faculty of Medicine, 1996-2005), and at the University of Applied [Economic] Sciences Ludwigshafen, Germany (2002-2016).

Prior to his permanent university appointment in 2002, he spent fifteen years in executive positions with international research-based biopharmaceutical companies in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, and the United States of America.

Before joining industry, he had spent six years in experimental brain research and clinical neurology at two German universities.
